Jennelle
Dance Candy Fitness was started by the owner of Bella Ballroom, the top-rated, award-winning dance studio in Orange County for wedding dance preparation.
Jennelle is a nationally-recognized professional dancer and instructor who founded Bella Ballroom in 2009 with the intention of making dance instruction intuitive, less intimidating, and stress-free, especially for brides and grooms learning to dance for their big day.
With Dance Candy Fitness, Jennelle offers ALL the benefits of dance in a supportive, patient, & fun environment — for everyone. There’s no good reason to say “no” to the enjoyment of dance!

Antoinette trained at Colburn Arts School, Joffrey Ballet School, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, and many other smaller studios.

Antoinette trained at Colburn Arts School, Joffrey Ballet School, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, and many other smaller studios. After building her skills in ballet, she took on the main genres of dance: jazz, Latin, hip-hop, tap, Dunham, and African. She is currently studying at UCI for her psychology and digital arts undergrad. The thing that appeals most to her about dance is being able to completely let go get and get out of her head and instead use the body as a creative instrument. Advice she’d give beginners to the world of dance would be to express your own individual ideas; just have fun and live in the moment as much as you can! Antoinette’s favorite song to dance to is “Automatic Driver” by La Roux.
Collin
Collin is a veteran dancer, with over 13 years of trained performance and teaching at Bliss Urban Arts Center, where his main styles of expertise are both hip-hop and theatre.

Collin is a veteran dancer, with over 13 years of trained performance and teaching at Bliss Urban Arts Center, where his main styles of expertise are both hip-hop and theatre. He was drawn to dance in the first place because he loves to perform. Being able to share that enthusiasm and give people from all walks of life and all ages a way to access that confidence that comes from performing for the first time is a constant source of inspiration for him. His advice for current students learning dance is to be ok with ‘failure’, because you have to get through the bad before you get to the good! His favorite song to dance to is “Jaguar” by Victoria Monet.

Bringing over 15 years of dancing experience to the table, Lauryn has been a hip-hop teacher for preschoolers to adults, and a professional dancer in the LA area.

Bringing over 15 years of dancing experience to the table, Lauryn has been a hip-hop teacher for preschoolers to adults, and a professional dancer in the LA area. Professionally trained with Elite dance academy, her favorite dance styles are: hip hop, jazz/funk, popping & breakdancing. She was drawn to dance because of the creativity and freedom of movement it gives. Lauryn’s advice to new dancers would be to stop thinking — work on muscle memory and eventually your body will take over. “Come try and just dance, you won’t realize it’s a workout.” Lauryn’s favorite song to dance to is “Smoking Out the Window” by Bruno Mars.

Lisa has over 20 years of performing and teaching experience, having toured professionally as a singer, dancer, and entertainer. Lisa began her formal training at The Performing Arts High School in Rochester, NY. After graduating from The Performing Arts HS, Lisa went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, with a focus in Musical Theater and Dance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Before moving to California in 2021, Lisa owned her own dance and fitness studio, offering performing arts summer day camps in New York. Over the course of her career, Lisa has taught musical theater, contemporary, modern, ballet, jazz, and tap dance to thousands of students. In addition to teaching through the week at Dance Candy, Lisa teaches musical theater and dance at Center Stage Studios in Aliso Viejo. Lisa is also a certified flexologist through Stretchlab. Her favorite song to dance to is “Welcome to My Island” by Caroline Polachek.

Taylor has been dancing her whole life, with an emphasis in hip-hop. She was part of hip-hop teams in high school and college that competed at Dance Worlds and Tremaine Dance Nationals for several years.

She was part of hip-hop teams in high school and college that competed at Dance Worlds and Tremaine Dance Nationals for several years. In her professional life, she was the owner, coach, and choreographer for New York Dance Connection Forever in Indiana before moving to California. Taylor took great joy in being a competitive hip-hop teacher for 6- to 18-year-olds, teaching students who have never danced before how to express themselves. Trained in hip-hop, jazz, ballet, tap, modern, middle eastern, Taylor feels that dance gives her, “the ability to express [herself] and the opportunity to shine in creative ways when it’s time to perform.” She also loves the other side of being a teacher and seeing choreography come to life on stage. Her favorite song to dance to is the classic “Everybody Dance Now” by C&C Music Factory.

Do I need to know how to dance to attend?
Nope! It’s fine if you do, and fine if you don’t.

I have two left feet. Is DCF for me?
Absolutely! Come have a good time with us and we’ll see if we can get those two left feet to work in tandem.

What level are the DCF classes at?
We invite students at every level to participate in DCF, from absolute newbie to old pros. While we do teach dance techniques, the focus is more on fitness and fun, so no one ever needs to feel like this isn’t the right class for them!

What do I need to bring to class?
Wear sneakers, bring a water bottle and a towel. That’s it!

How long are classes?
Classes are 45 minutes from start to end.

What’s covered in a typical class?
We target poise, cardio, strength, toning, and endurance as well as learning specific dance moves and steps, depending on what song(s) we’re currently dancing to! We also do some barre in the class as well as some hand weights for a full body workout.

How does Kidcare work?
Our Kidcare service is provided during select classes 7 days a week.

No, individual classes are available to purchase, though membership is always a “sweeter” deal!
